Take a look at your budget. Is there something in the list that you are accustomed but are not really necessary given your tight financial situation? It is just a matter of prioritizing. Define the things that are necessary for your survival. Take for instance your entertainment package. While taking time for leisure may be important, an expensive entertainment is not really necessary. So instead of going for expensive pastimes, go for the simpler (and more affordable) but enjoyable ones.
Invest whatever is left after sticking with your budget. Investments are interest earning which normally compound over time. A small investment may add up to amounts that add up to a fair return of your investments.
Avoid credit offers you receive through your email. Most internet scammers use credit offers for internet fraud like identity theft. Once your personal information land in the hands of criminals, you place yourself in a difficult situation. If you want to engage in credit (which is not advisable if we are talking about sticking with a tight budget), do it with reputable credit agencies in person. That’s how to stay safe with your personal information.
Take advantage of sales and bargain. Find the clearance rack in your favorite stores. If you patiently and diligently find your way to this section of the store, you will find quality items at much lesser prices compared with the regular retail sections.
Start setting up an emergency fund. At least you ensure yourself in case an emergency happens. Set aside at least 10% of your income for emergency situations. Be faithful not to touch your savings unless something happens that would necessitate the use of your emergency fund.
