Here are simple definitions of your spending categories.
Services
This category is broad and may be divided into several subcategories. One subcategory is electricity. Normally, electric bills vary in amount every billing period. Next subcategory would be gas. Again, this is also variable. Another subcategory would be telecom bills. This would include telephone bills, mobile phone bills, and bills from the internet and cable TV service providers.
Foodstuff
Foodstuff includes whatever is consumed outside the house and food bought at the supermarket. Most failures in budgeting include not being able to include dining out in the budget preparation.
Fixed Arrears
This includes monies you owe that do not change from one billing period to another. Examples may include rent, car payments and mortgages.
Variable Arrears
Variable arrears include payables that change from one billing period to another. Most common examples include credit card bills. You have to put this in priority payment list because not paying these types of arrears can have an adverse effect on your credit score.
Others
‘Others’ is not a dumping site for all uncategorized expenses. Others should only be used to include contingencies; that is, all unforeseeable expenses.
