Being a good steward of money requires a lot of common sense. Here are some of the important considerations.
1. Apartment. Choose the apartment that lies in a good neighborhood. It should be within commuting distance to the schools, hospitals, stores and other important installations. It would even be better if you could find one that includes the utilities in the rentals. Make a short term lease agreement first, say, six months. If you realize you don’t like your neighborhood, you can easily move after six months. You can always re-sign if you want to stay longer.
2. Clothes and Apparel. You can dress up to look trendy and cool. But do not spend on trends because they easily change. However, if you have become a fan of trends, consider shopping in stores that offer discounts.
3. Bags, Shoes and Other Accessories. These are the kind of stuff that are worth investing in. bags can go a long way. Your shoe size would never change. Accessories may be used time and time again, depending on your mood or your occasion.
4. Mobile Phones. These gadgets are trendy, but they change so fast. If you intend to use your mobile phone only for texting and calling, you don’t need an expensive gadget. Any mobile that has the feature for texting and calling will do.
5. Car. It is amazing that a car costs lesser than a house. But if you are doing your math right, a car costs more than renting an apartment. It is something that would require a lot of thinking. If you decide to buy a car, should you buy a brand new one or a used one? Whichever way, do some research. Calculate the costs. You would not want to end up financially burdened with a stuff you could live without.
