1. Prepare a budget and be strict with following it. The budget is the best antidote for impulse buying and overbuying.
2. Bring your shopping list when shopping. Determine beforehand what to buy. Anything not in the list should be avoided, especially your wants even if they are offered on sale.
3. Eat before you go shopping. If you go shopping hungry, you will have the tendency to buy fast foods, which are normally not included in the budget or in the shopping list.
4. Do not shop with a company. Your “shopping assistant,” especially your kids or one of them, will most likely ruin your shopping plans
5. Minimize your trips. It will not only save your gas, it always results in lesser spending.
