1. Chilli. As the cold season draws near, chilli is a great way to keep the family warm. You can even prepare extra and freeze for another lunch or dinner. With medium heat, brown about two pounds of ground beef or turkey. Add in one can of crushed tomatoes, some sliced onions and a cup of broth. Jalapeños, chilies, cayenne pepper or chili sauce can heat your chilli. You can serve it with cheddar cheese or cream as toppings.
2. Fish Cake. Fish cakes are a great recipe for children. Boil a pound of potatoes cut in small squares. When boiled, mash the potatoes. Add one can of deboned salmon. Add some pepper and salt to taste. Form the mixture into shapes your children would love. Fry the cakes and serve with lemon juice.
3. Bubble and Squeak. You can turn the leftovers into awesome dishes with this English classic. Add some leftover foods, sliced onions and cabbage to mashed potatoes. Season with pepper and salt. Add one cup of grated cheese. Form little patties and fry.
