So how do you get the best value out of your gift cards? Here’s how.
First, watch out for the scheduled sale from your most loved department store. You get the best value out of your gift cards when you purchase your stuff a much lesser price. However, you have to be very careful not to keep your cards for long. They carry expiration dates. You do not want to forfeit the privileges attached to your gift cards, don’t you?
Second, you maximize your gift cards when you use them to purchase at wholesale price. In many stores, wholesale prices are much lesser than retail prices, usually ranging from 1% to 5% lesser.
Third, most stores offer up to 50% discount during sale. The discount may be enjoyed when goods are offer by purchasing one item and getting another one for free. In the end, you pay only 50% for each item bought.
Fourth, you may want to find stores that offer discount coupons. You may find coupons offered physically at your favorite stores or online. The value of the coupons you find is the same value you save with your gift cards.
Fifth, maximizing the value of your gift cards also means understanding the terms attached to them. You may want to be careful about terms like not being able to use the cards online; or not using the cards with other offers in the store; or the sections within the store where you may not be able to use the cards. Whichever terms apply to your cards, it is to your advantage that you understand them before even making that first purchase.
Lastly, you may not like the store the cards are from. When this becomes true to you, you have two options. One, you may want to give the cards to someone interested in exchange for cash equivalent to the value of the cards. In this way, you can use the cards to purchase your stuff from the store of your choice. Two, you may want to re-gift the cards to someone. You may make someone happy with the gift cards as your gift.
There are many other ways you can maximize your gift cards. You may want to do whichever you think will work best for you.
