1. Know what perks your card company offers. Paying for something that you could have for free is really annoying. Most card companies do not remind their cardholders about using the available perks, so you better be informed about your benefits by regularly reviewing your terms.
2. Make a wise plan for your reward miles redemption. Most card companies need between eight to twelve weeks to credit miles rewards to their cardholders’ accounts. So if you are planning to redeem those miles, be sure that they are scheduled after your card company has credit your account with your rewards.
3. Do not limit the use of your card to travel expenses. If you wait for your miles to accumulate based on your actual travel, that would be a long process. You can actually turn your travel rewards card into a general purpose card. You can earn miles by making eligible purchases.
