Cyber bullying has already taken its root in social media. In video hosting sites like YouTube for instance, anyone can broadcast themselves and display what they got. While it is true that exposure is fast through these video hosting sites and can even go viral, they open doors for uncontrolled comments – both nice and mean – on a massive scale. Instead of being encouraged, cyber bullying is a high-tech way of sowing mockery and slander.
Who should set the standard of what is worth posting in the internet or not that we should expect cyber bullying? Others do just for fun and amusement without thinking about their repercussions.
Maybe it is time that the more civil people of our society should think of ways to minimize cyber bullying for the sake of the security of our children and our children’s children.
