- Everyone knows about the benefits of exercise, but did you know a daily dose is proven to boost your mood? Rather than hitting the gym once or twice a week for several hours at a time, aim for twenty minutes of increased heart rate every day. If that seems excessive, try to think of it as an investment in your day.
- In order to boost the likelihood of sustaining your fitness routine, mix it up with several variations and try to integrate it into your daily life. For example, commit yourself to riding your bike to meet a friend instead of driving, practicing yoga on Sunday mornings before breakfast, and completing a set of push ups twice a week at home.
- It’s sometimes difficult to make the healthy, positive dietary decisions we’ve set out to when so many tempting options exist, but there are easy ways to keep your healthful promises to yourself! In the morning, take the time to pack a snack that is rich in proteins but not preservatives; if you have something else to reach for, the office vending machine won’t prove as attractive.
- Keep a simple journal of how you’re feeling as well as your exercise and dietary regimens for this week. This way, you’ll be able to track your energy and mood levels and witness the benefits over the long-term.
