Here are 6 reasons why saving is great.
1. Saving creates financial leverage during emergencies. Instead of using your credit facilities to pay off an emergency expense, you can issue a check for it. Savings can relieve you of some financial stress knowing that when an eventuality should arise, you can pull off from your savings to meet any cash requirement.
2. Saving makes the prospect of retiring exciting. You don’t have to think about working through your 60s. Your savings assures you that someday, you will retire and spoil yourself with the things you wanted to do like traveling or doing your hobbies.
3. Saving promotes family bonding. Imagine yourself, your spouse and your children going your own individual way for your leisure time. It would be contrary to your desire to reach financial freedom. Compare that with eating dinner together at home instead of eating out and watching movies on your cable TV together instead of going to the movie houses. You are not only saving but also bonding with your family without shedding too much money.
4. Saving is environment friendly. Commercialization and consumerism have led to too much crap. You can find everything in the malls and stores. Buying crap leads to the creation of more crap. Buying less (or not at all) lessens the wastes human beings create each day.
5. Saving prevents potential marital problems. It is a known fact that financial problems have led to many divorces. When the bills get piled up, disagreements and hostility also do. Be smart with your money and save your marriage and family.
6. Saving gives better sleep. Many things can cause you to be anxious but not money. When you have savings because you lived a frugal life, money is the least of all problems. Money cannot buy sleep. But savings do give a better sleep.
